Varig (Acidentado em Bagé no
dia 7 de abril de 1957 após a asa esquerda quebrar ao arremeter
sobre a pista 05. Após decolar, piloto pensou que havia um incêndio
no motor número 1 e que havia sido apagado com extintores de
incêndio e tentou retornar a Bagé, mas o trem de pouso havia se
incendiado após a decolagem devido a um vazamento de combustível e
não o motor número 1. Todos os 40 ocupantes (35 passageiros e cinco
tripulantes) morreram.) /
